Abstract
Induction motors have been identified as one of the most common and useful type of motors. Thus, these motors are commonly used in domestic applications as well as industrial applications due to their distinctive features. However, it has been determined that these motors tend to fail with the time of operation which can be minimized through proper techniques of monitoring the condition and diagnosing the fault of the induction motor. The following paper will investigate extensively, the faults which could occur in an induction motor as well as the techniques of diagnosing these faults which can provide a better lifetime whilst increasing the reliability in an induction motor subsequently.
